Technical EML Deactivated, how do I reactivate?! 2008 Ducato

Hi,

My 2008 2.3 MJ Ducato has just failed its first MOT since I bought it due to an inactive EML, i.e. the light doesn't come on with the ignition. I assume a previous owner has deactivated it due to a fault or because the EGR has been blanked. All the other dash warning lights seem to work as expected. I'm also assuming that the instrument binacle lights are LEDs so it's unlikely to simply be a removed bulb.

Has anyone ever encountered a similar issue? Many thanks in advance!

When I bought mine it had the same issue and the eml light never came on with the ignition, this was often done a few years ago as it wasn't an MOT fail as it is now. On my 07 Ducato it was due to a previous owner taping over the eml light inside the cluster. The light was on all the time due to issues with the glow plugs and the egr solenoid. in my case I just had to remove the instrument cluster and remove the tape over the light then fix the issues causing it to be on.
