ELX / HLX

OK, whats the difference between the ELX and the HLX and whats the lowest engine size for both, and does the ELX come in a 1.2 or is it a 1.8 only ? I'm asking for insurance purposes...maybe the JTD would be better ( if it has all the extra's a ELX does )

Oh yes one other thing, which engine is the best one ..for reliability and for parts (Is a service or cambelt change the same price for a SX as it is for a ELX ).

Firstly i can't say for the ELX - perhaps some1 else can. I have a 1.8 HLX bravo, i believe there were a very few 1.6 HLX's made. but 1.8 is more common.

HLX spec:
Outside;- 15" alloys, colour coded bumpers with front fogs, bravO comes with hatch spoiler (dunno bout bravA), headlamp washers (and damned ugly they r too).

Inside;- heated seats, believe the seats trim is nicer too. rear headrests?, different radio i think. my steering wheel is different to my mates SX - but his is a mk2 and mines a mk1. so dunno if thats trim level or just an update.

Its only a grp 7 on the insurance.

I believe the ELX is the Brava version of the HLX Bravo.

I agree those Headlamp washers are bulky and ugly. Good job my 115 16V never came with them otherwise i'd of ripped them off and filled the hole.

Yes, the ELX is a Brava, which is the HLX version of the Bravo, both in 1.8.

However there are a few 1.6 HLX's knocking about (Like John's)

OK so the HGT is the new top of the range one and the JTD is the turbo diesel, so is there a BravA HGT then or is it only BravO, if not is the top of the range BravA the ELX MKII ?

As mentioned twice already the ELX is the BravA equivelent of the BravO HLX
The BravO HGT is the 2.0 5 cyl. There is a BravA HGT, only you have to go to Brazil for it and that engine is the 1.8 VVT lump out the Coupe/Barch/Punto HGT not the 5 cyl and NOT the same as the ELX/HLX 1.8
There are a few 1.6 ELX/HLX around (my sister in law has one)

There are also ELX JTD's and HLX's but these are more sought after and hold their price better so cheap ones are few and far between.
