ELM327 installation and virus PSW.Generic8.BFIK

Hi guys,
Just bought an obd cable and ecu diagnostic software from ebay.
ELM327 + 5 Discs LATEST OBD 1 & 2 CAR DIAGNOSTIC SOFTWARE ECU REMAPPING TUNING

When I install the disk that came with the cable AVG antivirus detects a virus

PSW.Generic8.BFIK

I googled it and looked on the fiat forum to see if there was any previous threads relating to this issue.
I have found several conflicting reports when googled some stating it must be removed, and others stating that for the cable and software to work it must be installed, and is not a threat.

Has anyone any information on this issue

Your safest course of action is probably to post on the AVG forum.

get rid of avg and download avast
then run a virus scan
