Has anyone heard of these before?

I first saw them on 'Pimp my Ride'. The ones they used were long rectangular things, and they said that one of these was the same as having 2 1000w subs??

What they said was 'The diaphragm vibrates the plexiglass, which creates the sound wave, but because the plexiglass can vibrate much further than your normal speaker, it is able to create a much deeper sound more easily.

Found a page on it too....

They won't have been electrostatics. ESLs have a diaphram a bit like a sheet of tin foil.

Most likely it was an NXT loudspeaker. As for the comment about plexiglass vibrating much further.... well... some top end car subs move 40-60mm or more :)
