I hope someone can help me! I've gone to fit a modern stereo but as soon as I connect it up to the original pos and neg you hear a click and some of the dash lights go out. The car still starts but nothing works like lights etc. With the stereo disconnected the dash lights do return. Any ideas?

how very interesting. hmm how are you wiring it up?

the panda only has 2 wires that give power to the radio. i have seen it where people have wired in the yellow wire to the radio, sadly that only gives power when the lights are on.

most modern radios require 3 "power cables" a "constant live" a "ignition live" and a ground.

the panda only gives the constant live from the red (with green spots) wire if you want an ignition live, you would have to wire one in from somewhere else.

i hope this sheds some light on the issue :)

Thanks for your reply, all sorted now. It was a poor earth. I'm thinking that connecting the stereo just caused the earth to fail totally. I just tweaked then13mm bolt and it sorted it.

Also had another electrical fix today! I got my intermitant and park sorted on the wipers. It was a dry joint on the control unit that's on the motor.
