Fiat500 on 2014 plate Petrol. I need to access the lecky door switch but cant see how to prise them out. They still click but maybe its shorted inside I have taken the gear nnob gaiter off and removed two screws behind that but nothing budges.

The driver door window motor is constantly on. Have just replaced the motor/regulater with a brand new one and same fault. Its as if the window reaches the upper limit but is still powered so I suspect a switch. All fuse are fine. I can hear the motor knocking and if I leave it plugged in the window motor gets hot. Passenger door window works fine.

The top part of the switch can be removed with a flat head screw driver as for the bottom part that can be pulled out with needle pliers carefully

The two screws you removed will just release the front plastic part that skirts the gaiter nothing to do with switches
That part is part of the dash and can’t be removed
Once you get the switch bottom part out you can unplug and investigate

Big Thanks.

I swapped both switches over and still have the issue so thats iliminated the switch and regulator assembly. Now I am back to square one. I cant see any internet mention of a relay for the lecky windows and/or drivers door and presume there is only one, if it has one at all. If thats the case passenger side would not work either but that's fine. The window shuts but then you hear that gentle knocking/clonking sound as if you are holding the switch down too long. I presume regulator assembly has an upper/lower limit sensor but this is a brand new assembly.

BCM? have you tried disconnecting the battery and re connecting ? I have a non working passenger window there is a click/click in the door when I operate the switch but wont go down for now I've just left it as we don't have anywhere warm and dry to work on the car

Yes, two weekends ago. The last one was 8 years old. The window motor got red hot, even with the ignition off, key out, voltage is still reaching the motor. I spent 12 hours last weekend on it in the fog and cold. Bugger to work on. Its now in the local garage so they can suss it out as the MOT is due next week and no window is a failure.. I recon in car computer but time will tell.

PS I checked all the relays in that fuse box next to the battery. Pressed and wiggled them about. Still same fault. When I changed the battery it was disconnected for at leat 30 minutes becasue the nut holding it in was a pig to undue.
