Technical egine cuts out

hi guys i am hoping someone on here can help me....
here goes
my van is a 120 ducato van 2011 plate and the engine cuts out on a regular basis more so when hot,or slightly in the wrong gear,or if put foot down too hard,it also smokes quite heavily until this happens as well,once it does i lose power and yellow engine light comes on.
I need advice on what the hell is wrong with it

Throwing a dart, without diagnostics. But I'd guess at fuel pump pressure regulator.

Had same on my old 57 plate 2.3 120
Cut out when warm, at junctions setting off, faults cleared when cold.
Diesel specialist in Watford diagnosed injectors,
£1000 on injectors
£2000 on having the broken inj bolts removed, serviced, cam belt, and it was same after the work (carried out by another garage as diesel specialist wouldn't touch it as they expected bolts to break)

£120 pressure regulator fixed it.

Need a diagnostic check to start with.
Could be fuel filter, egr valve, fuel pressure regulator........

I had exactly the same issue just after i bought mine turned out all 4 injectors knackered also had two of the bolts snap when removing the old injectors they helicoiled them the first time but failed a few days after
they then got an engineering company to come out the garage and have TIMESERTS fitted

3 of the 4 injectors were reconditioned the other was toast and had to buy a new one

all good now

thanx for the replies,how much is it to fit the regulator or is this something that can be fitted with not much mechanical knowledge

Garage did mine mate, sure someone will be able to answer, don't think it's a big job, as it didn't take them long.
Really needs code reading and diagnosing before, and will probably need faults clearing once affected part is replaced too
