Hi all,
I was just wondering how the mods people have done effected there insurance prices. Any mods at all really.
Cheers

It depends on a number of things such as age amongst other things

My Hi Boost Turbo for example costs me £28 a year more than my modified NA cinq. The insurance on my NA was £9 more when i declared the mods but remember i'm an old fart compared to the majority of cinq owners and i own and insure five cars

agreeing a limited the mileage is a good tip for bringing the cost down if you don't do a lot of miles a year

Oh yeah i know it will vary according to the details of the policy I was just curious to know what other people are paying for there stuff really.

Okay bit of background
5years NCB,
male of 28 years
2 cars insured with my name
Limited to 10k miles (both cars, so 20k/year max)
Low crime area post code
Insured for occasional business usage & parking overnight at work with CCTV

Standard Seicento Sporting £178. Add up to 90bhp output (including low boost turbo , though insurance may go up on car rebuild/resale value), standard alloys, lowered & other minor cosmetics it's £209

Standard Cinq sporting £155. Then adding 1.2 16v, nitrous oxide, power up to 182bhp. Up rated brakes , this is rather important to REDUCE the insurance premiums, lowered, 'after market' alloys, striped interior, retro-fit abath body kit, roll cage, buckets etc. £381 & a lot of that is because the insurance company & I agreed the car will be worth £3000 rather than £500.

I have a 11 years on you declared 115bhp on the turbo with agreed valuation of £3K, 6K miles per year and zero no claims on this car (but have maximum on other cars so thay gave me equivalent full ncb discount) cost £178 iirc

Only just renewed the NA yesterday was £135 fully comp, inc business use & 8K miles per year only 4 years NCB on this car but again they applied full ncb discount, it cost 15 quid extra for a £1K agreed valuation

Found out I'm paying £40 for the privlidge of beingable to 'store' the car at work overnight with no NCB discount on that. Which means <35 more bhp = +25% on the premium, <100 more bhp = +45% on the premium.
