I have an Airbag problem with my 2011 Fiat Punto Evo. I've had my airbag ECU reprogrammed by ECUTESTING after it became damaged. This was a full reprogram after a repair failed to sort a problem out. Since then it is giving left and right side impact sensor errors, B0111-C and B0112-C. After removing the lower plastic cover on the B pillar on the passenger side I can see no evidence that this car even has side impact sensors. I certainly can't see them and I'm coming to the conclusion that there are in fact not even any side airbags. Another forum directed me here suggesting that somebody might be able to tell from my VIN number (ZFA19900000784699), the exact build of my car to see if it actually has side impact sensors. I wonder if anybody can advise?

You can check basics yourself, use ePER. Click the blue button "ALL" (top right corner).
https://eper.fiatforum.com/en/Groups/F/F/FPUN/3J?VIN=ZFA19900000784699&MVS=19914M301000
There is an entry called "DRIVER SIDE KNEE BAG - (Yes)". I don't see passenger side...
Anyways: your AirBag module has (probably) wrong software installed (or configuration).
Or something was removed (sensor, air bag). Or it's a bad connection (pretty common thing in Puntos).

Thank you. Much appreciated.

There are different configurations, depending on the car, with headbags, sidebags or both. Depending on the configuration, I think there is different software in the airbag control unit. ECUtesting must have flashed wrong firmware, from cars with side airbags (16V turbo version like mine) and now you get the error.

Press Show all to see all versions.

You should ask ECUtuning to flash the correct firmware.

Thank you for that. I'm beginning to think that's the issue. I'll contact ECUTESTING and see what they have to say. Much appreciated.

Looks like you've bought the active version of the Punto Evo, the only one where even the Punto Evo doesn't have side airbags and sensors.

https://www.parkers.co.uk/fiat/punto-evo/review/practicality/

There's also some other info online which claims all Punto Evo cars have 7 airbags (including knee and side airbags), but it now seems as if this is not the case for the very basic active version.

So if the ECU was rebuild and flashed, they must have flashed some other version than the one for the Punto Evo active

Yes I think that's the problem. Thank you so much. I'm really grateful for all the help I've received on this forum.

I wanted to post an update....
I was having a nightmare trying to sort an airbag problem out and it was becoming a real battle. I was almost scraping the car because I found it all so frustrating. After perseverance and with the fantastic support of some members of this forum, I was able to finally resolve the problem. I had the ECU reprogrammed at significant cost but it still didn't work : the ecu couldn't communicate with the side impact airbags. It turned out that the company that reprogrammed the ECU had programmed it for a higher spec than my car.... After stripping down half the inside of the car in search for side impact airbag sensors it turns out they in fact if didn't have any. ECU got sent back and reprogrammed it. Eureka! Thank you to all the great members of this forum who were incredibly helpful in offering me their advice and expertise. Much appreciated.
