Installed this eco Drive program about two days ago..

im really likin the figures its throughin back at me but its a bit strange since it says for 164mile journey it would of cost me £10.84 which is amazing in my opinion... it also says the average MPG that im gettin is 62mpg but it doesnt say that on my dash lol. says more like 56mpg..

Which is right? lol Anyone tried and tested the program like tried fillin it up seein how much it says uv used then tryin to put that amount back in.. and see if it ends up in the same place on the gauge??

The only way to truly test the mpg is to brim the tank and reset the trip. When you are ready to fill it again brim it and see how many litres you have used for the miles. I think our trip computer is fairly accurate, to within a couple of mpg. Sounds like good mpg you are getting there like.

aye that was my next option... the 62mpg figure is wot the ECo drive program says on the pc..

strange thing is the range on the computer on the car says sommet daft like 640 miles but i only got like 480 to a ful tank.. thats til the light came on.

EcoDrive doesn't check the mpg figures until you have driven 1km, but it also only checks them something like 5 times a minute instead of the thousand times a minute of the onboard system - the figures will both be correct according to the amount of data each has to compute with.

eco:Drive, elected 'Green Champion' in London for environmental achievements

At a ceremony that took place a few days ago at the House of Commons in London, the Fiat brand was awarded an important international accolade that confirms its credentials as an environmentally friendly manufacturer.

In fact - at the International Green Apple Awards 2009 in the presence of Michael Cooke, the chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health - the brand was awarded the honour of 'Green Champion' thanks to eco:Drive, the innovative free system that allows drivers to understand the impact of their driving style on fuel consumption and the emission of pollutants. Luis Cilimingras, head of the eco:Drive project, collected the award on behalf of Fiat Group Automobiles.

Launched at the Paris Motor Show in 2008, eco:Drive is a device that gathers information regarding vehicle efficiency and personal driving style whilst the vehicle is being driven. Using the USB port provided as part of the versatile Blue&Me system, all the data is stored on a normal USB key and can later be 'read' on a computer. Drivers can then consult a detailed analysis of the fuel consumption and emissions generated during each of their trips (ecoIndex) and receive tips on how to reduce the environmental impact of their driving. Thanks to a series of progressive tutorials, they can improve their environmental score: drivers who adopt an 'environmentally friendly' driving style can further improve their technique to reduce CO2 emissions by 15 percent, with an annual fuel saving of 120 to 200 euro. For more details see: www.fiat.com/ecodrive.

The title of 'Green Champion' awarded to Fiat is a special acknowledgment from the Green Organisation (a group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world), reserved only for "the highest achievement". After the many awards eco:Drive has won for innovation and marketing since its launch a year ago, the Green Apple 'Green Champion' accolade is the first that provides recognition of the work done for the environment.

My ecodrive appears to be borked again - had 2 updates to the PC software but since Oct 22nd, it has failed to plot the graphs...just sticks computing 22nd October 2009 - after 5 minutes it then reports it has disconnected.

Anyone else having that issue? Or had it and fixed it?

Had the issue. Swapped the USB stick around fixed it in one instance.

It isn't the USB stick - the actual program on the PC is gubbed...when it is trying to plot the graphs it says it is reading the data for 22nd October and it just sits there...doing SFA...the machine is importing my new data apparently - program detects new data on the USB and imports it, but doesn't show anything...

Same as this?

Believe it or not I got a different USB, set it up for Eco:drive and it solved the issue. It does seem to be a bug in the software- happened again to me!

Mine is like this screengrab - the bottom right of the graph shows it is doing something on 22nd October...but it just sits like that for ages...I can move my pointer along the straight line from 22nd October until today and it does give me readings - but it fails to do the analysis bit.

I'll try a new memory stick - when I set it up for EcoDrive - will I loose the old stuff? I'll do a backup of the data to EcoDrive then try the new stick...I'm not convinced it is the USB though as it's now over 3 months old this poblem. Saying that, I'll give it a try to see if it fixes it.

do you know if there are any insrtuctions for the eco drive as i dont seem to be able to get mine up and running???

No instructions as such - what is the problem? What is happening and what isn't? Have you installed it on your computer? If so, you start it up, insert a USB stick and then select 'Setup USB' - that should then start recording the data - this assumes EcoDrive is installed in your car.

To install EcoDrive, you get your USB stick and copy the unzipped EcoDrive files on to it - ensuring the the .inf file is at the root folder of the USB stick. Insert stick into USB port in car and then insert ignition key and turn to the first stop - message should appear on the dash saying installing (or something like that) - sit and wait for the install to be done, then when it says completed you turn the ignition off, remove the USB and then start the car up...after about 6 seconds you should get a message saying EcoDrive Activated...if you drive from there it will start to be recorded.

The install in the car needs to be done before the install on the PC.

Once installed in the car, you set the USB stick up and then you plug it into the car and drive...once done, you remove the stick, start the PC program up, once loaded, insert USB stick and the PC will ask if you want to import the data...you click yes and it does the job...remove the stick once done, then select your user and your car and it will plot the graph (or it should - mine is stuck on 22 October 2009 and not doing anything else).

It's a simple process that sounds hard as I'm crap at explaining things...

I have downloaded to stuff from the fiat website and installed it on my comp but when I open it up all that appears are the 3 characters and it asks me to select what language I want to use. English is already selected but there are no other options to advance from this stage. I also don’t know what files to put on my usb stick?? Do I put the whole download onto it?? I also have albums on my usb stick but I understand this shouldn’t make a difference is this correct??

Cheers for you help mate as this has me totally confused lol

aye no worries mate

was doing a bit of traveling to stirling just before christmas...that road is a nightmare with the average speed cameras...so hard to stick to 40 all the time lol

Ok, have you downloaded the EcoDrive program for your car? If so, has it been installed in your car?

If yes, have you downloaded EcoDive for your computer? Is that installed? Is it Mac or PC? Not sure if it only works on PC...

If it is installed on PC, have you set the USB stick up? If so, have you removed the EcoDrive car program files from the USB stick? (there should be no .inf files in the root of the USB stick that you want to use for your EcoDrive car recordings).

If yes to all then it should be working...do you have screengrabs of the errors?

Ok iv downloaded and installed this on my comp which is a pc..... http://www.fiat.co.uk/ecodrive/#ecodrive/download

Is that all I need or are there other stuff to???

Nothing installed in the car

Don’t know what to put on the usb stick

Not getting any errors up...nothing in the car and when I open eco drive on the comp the page with the 3 we guys comes up asking me to choose a language but there are no other options to advance from that page

do i need the latest blue and me software??

You need to install EcoDrive in the car - which is another download from the website - you copy the files to the USB stick - making sure the .inf file is in the root folder. Stick USB in car, turn ignition to first point (don't start the engine) - Dash says it is installing, once done says complete - switch off, remove stick...start engine and after 6 seconds or so dash will report EcoDrive has started...

Remove EcoDrive files from the USB (so the .inf file isn't there) - start EcoDrive on your PC, insert USB in computer and then select Set up USB - it then does what it needs to the USB and then you plug it into the car and go drive...it needs 5 days worth of data before it starts doing it's thing...

any chance of a link to that downlaod then cause the only downlaod i can find is the one i linked to in my last post
