I have to replace the shock absorbers for the MOT. As the old cover disintegrated years ago I thought I should replace them. What way around do they go onto the shock. I assume its as I have pictured with a big lump of white foam exposed as pictured?

There are two types:

1. one piece bump stop with gaitor,
2. individual two parts ( as on photo above).

Both of them go from the top of the rod, whole assy does need to be disassembled.

edit:
Unless you're interested in getting complete 2x strut assy ready to bolt on, with perfect gaitor and oe shocks.

( top bearings, coil spings, shocks, hubs, wheel bearings, caliper carriers, existing back plates, bottom arms + bush) pm me if interested.

Thanks Kolza. (y) The assembly is all ready disassembled, new shocks are waiting and springs have been painted. Just wanted to make sure I put the covers on correctly, on inspection I think they can only go on the way I have pictured.
