And so the cold weather is upon us and the weakest link in the chain failed to start.
Not the 500c, my daughter’s StreetKa. The battery has been dying for the last week and this morning gave up the ghost completely.
We only pursued the car earlier this year and so didn’t know how old the battery was, so I wasn’t upset.
Popped over to Europarts and paid £35 for a new one
. Just fitted it and noticed why the old one that is a relatively new AA Battery has failed; the transportation plug is still fitted.
This is the second car I’ve bought where the previous owner has paid good money and caused the battery to die prematurely because they haven’t removed the transportation plug.
The next secondhand car I buy I will endeavour to check for this. What a waste.
