Technical Ducatto Can Bus

Can anyone tell me if the 2002 Ducatto 2.8JTD is fitted with a Can Bus system?

Hi Chris,

Are you refering to an x230, or an x244 model? (See VIN on plate or in V5C).

The answer for both models is no. On the x244 (I own one.) the ECU communicates with the ABS via a direct connection. The ECU also communicates with do the key code module, and the subject to confirmation, the air bag module. This falls far short of the complex network used on later models.

The x230 could be even simpler than the x244.

Is this request related to your earlier thread relating to an rpm signal, for cruise control?

The answer to my question is no, or if a Can Bus is present it would be very basic and very limited.
