Hi All, I'm in desperate need of help!

I ahve a 2007 MWB Ducato, the nearside wing mirror had been hit so I replaced it with an after market wing mirror. The new wing mirror came with a terminal block (which I cut off as I need to connect with the van's wiring) and has the following wires:

1 x brown
1 x green
1 x green with black traces
1 x red/black
1 x white
1 x yellow
1 x blue
1 x red

The existing wires from the van are as follows:

2 x black
3 x brown
1 x red
1 x yellow
1 x blue
1 x white
1 x green
1 x grey

I have connected (twisted) together in pairs the reds, yellows, blues and whites. I do have the indicator working and the mirrors are moving but not as they should (lower mirror moves on both and up is left down is right etc etc)...do any awesome and far more knowledgeable people than i know what the hell these wires are and how to connect them up please?

Below are a couple of photos of the wiring (new wing mirror wiring has 8 cores and the existing van wiring has 11 cores).

Hi Matt

Your colours are a bit unexpected as Fiat generally used dual coloured wires (Main Colour plus Tracer) except for plain black which is earth.

I attach some schematics based on elearn data, which might shed some light. I haven't included the indicators but their live feeds are Pink/Green for Left and Pink/Violet for Right, with Black for earth.

The radio aerial built into the mirror was an option for some versions and only fitted one side. If you have a roof aerial then ignore it.

If you are still struggling, I suggest you buy a cheap digital multimeter so you can at least identify which van wires go live when various switches are operated. Measure all voltages relative to a good earth connection for the negative (black) test probe. Then you will have a better idea of what goes where.

DC motors (e.g. mirror adjusters) will change direction of you reverse their two connections

The motorised mirror retraction was an option which may not be fitted.

Hi Anthony

This is fantastic, thank you so much...I'll do my best to try and sort this but having these schematics will help me immensely.
