hi all,

my recently purchased 1993 Ducato motorhome has started leaking water from under the dash. on further inspection it seems that the top of the heater control valve is the source of the main leak, not sure if there are others yet. there is no hot air, so I'm starting to think that there may be a blockage, or that the valve itself is knackered.

had a good look around and these valves seem to be hard come by.

I will have to take the dash off to get in there and have a look and to replace anything.

does anyone have any experience in repairing heater systems on these models? as I said, the top of the heater valve where the control stem from the heater control slider enters the valve seems to be the source of the leak (hopefully the only one!)

any tips (or parts) welcome!

Cheers

another quick point, since the water/coolant is leaking into the van, I just have water in there when the engine is running. when I stop working, I dump all the water from the rad by disconecting the hose from the bottom of the rad.

will this ensure all the water is out of the system and prevent any freezing damage?

or will I need to put antifreeze in each time and let is run all over inside?

thanks

G
