Technical Ducato gearbox end cover plate

Hi everyone,

I have a 1998 Hymer motorhome which is based on the Ducao. It has the 2.5TDi engine (Sofim/Iveco 8140.47). The gearbox end cover (next to 5th) is rusting through and I would like to replace it before it goes totally and kills the gearbox! I believe the part I need has part number 9632808880. The only place I can find one is in Europe at a cost of £160ish but before I take the plunge and order it I was just wondering if that gearbox was a fiat-only part, or if it was used on any of the other vans that used the same engine?

Scrap that, it's not the part number I need! I've just removed the cover and it's totally different. Can anyone help me find out the part number I need? I've attached a picture below of the actual part in case that helps.

Hi Tom I’m also looking for the same part but there doesn’t appear to be any available in the uk ! Could you send me a link to where you saw them in European market as i also may have to resort to buying one from there ? Regards Richard

Hi @ROBROY10 , it turns out it wasn't the part I needed after all. Part number 9632808880 was for a different gearbox. If that is the part you need it can be found here. The part I needed for the 8140.47 engine was not available anywhere so I ended up taking the one I had to a local engineering company who were able to patch it up for me. Cost me £75 to have the patches welded over it and they then zinc coated and painted it for me and it looks like it will be good for years to come
