General Ducato gearbox

Hi is have been trying to get a referb gearbox for my 1999 1.9 ducato diesel , been told by a replacement place in Manchester way that they are really hard to get if not impossible is this true got my camper sat here doing nothing as im struggling to get gears

It may depend if a Fiat engine or a Peugeot 1.9, in fairness either are pretty rare these days.
There is a guy on Forum who does some of the smaller Fiat boxes who may be able to do something or suggest something, give him a PM @Fortunes Gate .

Can you not take yours off and get that refurbed?

Would love to take mine off and get it refurbished but don't know any place up here in Scotland. That desperate i would send it anywhere in UK

Hi Chris 1950, Just had a word with my local gearbox specialist, Stephen Brear, here in Leeds re. my 1996 1.9td Ducato. He said he had syncro rings for 2nd,3rd,and 4th gears. However, replacement gears are no longer available. These rings are what mine needs and he is going ahead with the repair. I'm telling you this as Stephen is the man to go to in the Leeds area for private and commercial owners inc. garages. If you contact him, he should be able to advise you. Tel. 0113 2632073.
