Hello all,

My 2005 Ducato clock seems to re-set to 00:00 every time the van is re-started. Has anyone encountered this problem before or know if there is an easy (or not so easy!) fix?

Thanks (y)

Hi
I have had the problem with my 2003 2.8 JTD & it has only seemed to occur when the voltage of the Battery has dropped when it has been sitting for a month or more as it it is a motorhome & is not used all the time.I can usually tell from the noise of the starter when it doesn't start instantly & look @ the clock to see it reset to 00.00

I don't think it's the battery - it does it all the time even when in constatant use (it's also a motorhome) and the battery does not drain as it's either being used or it's on charge when parked up. Not an earth-shatteringly terrible problem but darn annoying :bang:

Hi Forum,

i also have the same problem here, a 2.8JTD in a mobilehome - Battery is ok and Engine starts ok, but everytime i start the beast, a message says "Batt" and the clock is `zeroed. Is there anyone out there having a wiring diagram, able to mail it ? Or is there any Info available about a wire supplying power to the clock, while the engine is off ? Or is there maybe a separate Fuse ? Found nothing in the manual...

Thanks for your help, Manfred from Cologne / Germany

Hi Manfred, does yours have a split charger system to charge the cab battery and the inside liesure batteries? I have this (and there is a heap of electronics on top of the cab battery) which I think may be the root cause of the issue. I *think* that prior to starting it momentarily reduces the voltage and this is when the clock re-sets. As you, mine starts fine every time and the clock works fine while the engine is either stopped or running, it's just at start it zeros .... very strange!

Hi JDS,

exactly the same behavior here. I`ve got an "Dethleffs" Camper, Split Charger for Engine and Leisure Batt., Leisure Batt is a Gel-Batt, starts loading at 14.2 V IoUo Line; Engine Batt is a standard 80Ah Wet Battery (approx 6 months old), loads with approx 2A straight `til full. At the first rising of the problem, i`ve tried to start the engine with lights and radio and vent and so on - no starting problem... starter turned as usual... Cab Battery either is ok, no Voltage Problem shows up... and both circuits are separated when the charger is "offhook"... errm gets no 230V ... ****.. i thought that there must be a cable providing power to the Clock electronics while the engine is off, and maybe this one is down.. or a fuse is broken.. but i can not find something in the "fine" manual.. tsssssss.. such a lot of fuses, but noone seems to be responsible...
Any other idea ??

L8er, best wishes, Manfred

hi try asking on motorhome facts.com the people on the forum are really good at sorting/advising on all sort of problems. hope they can help you

Plenty of good people that can help you here aswell:rolleyes: Like I posted earlier its a voltage problem that resets the clock or often in case of a new vehicle the fuse is missing (had this many times before) ... also testing a battery correctly can only be done by good equipment like microna, expensive but approved.
