I have a Trigano Tribute campervan on a 2005 Ducato base van. I want to fit a reversing camera, and would welcome advice on removing or getting behind the dash to connect the wiring required. I would also like to know how to route the cables behind the roof lining.

Hi

You havnt said what you are looking to use as a screen

I decided not to use a wired system having now fitted both I opted to go wireless as it made life a lot easier when I fitted it to a T5 campervan I had prior to my tribby.

I mounted my camera under the bike rack as this life easy to wire into the reversing lights. To fit the sender unit I took off the rubber door seal and filed a grove so the wireing could pass behind the seal and fitted the unit behind the cloth covering over the sink unit near to the back door.

I changed the radio for a single din unit with a reversing camera connection (second off of fleebay) which was easily reached by removing the existing radio. I took off the clip board (simply undo the screws on the top) The wires for the receiver go under this with the receiver just sitting
on the top of the dash behind the clipboard.
I would have loved to fit a double din all singing and dancing unit but it cant be done on this ducato.

If you are looking to use a separate screen the radio is still a good place to go for the electrical connections.

Hope my gibberish makes some sense and is a little helpful If you live anywhere near Bristol and want to see what I did I will be happy to have a natter Even make you a coffee
David

Hope it makes

My reversing Monitor is mounted close to the tray above the glovebox (but on the dash top). The cables come through at the back of the tray, a small area was filed out for this.

The last thing you want to do is to start taking the dash out. I have done it once to get at the heater linkage which had jammed. Never again.
