General Ducato Battery Removal

Having trouble removing positive terminal plate from battery on 2017 Ducato. Removed 2 Phillips screws from the small red plastic fitting, and loosened terminal clamp. The plate itself (which carries a number of wires) seems quite flimsy and I don't want to risk breaking it.
Any ideas, please?

Welcome to the forum. I am surprised that no one has responded sooner. My Ducato is an earlier x244, so different, but the following thread may help.

The Phillips headed screws are into red expanding plastic fittings which have to be removed.

Thanks for this. It was the 2 small expansion plugs I had difficulty with. Now out and safely winter trickle charging!

Starter Battery top up or removal /replacement

To avoid any problems with spiked or corrupted ECUs there are number of precautions to be taken. The SRS ECU (airbag), in particular, seems fairly prone to this and damage is often blamed on incorrect battery disconnection or jump starting...

Though it does just say undo the two screws and remove the red plastic piece. It wasn't difficult when i did mine.
