Ducato 3 litre , can’t get reverse

Hi all
2008 3 litre fiat ducato

Parked up the van 6 months ago , started first time all gears go in fine and moves forward fine

Can’t locate reverse for some reason , stick lifts as it should but don’t quite engage , not trying to engage when forced a little , no grinding etc .

Exactly the same when engine is switched of , all gears engage easily except reverse .
Any suggestions , can’t get to off the drive

Try and check the cables are still attatched

More likely than an internal failure
