Hi!
My son has a my. -07 X250 Ducato 3.0 MJ160 as a construction van. It has strange boost issues. At the moment, the van is in a limp mode, revving bit over 3000rpm and the engine warning light is on. The ecu gives a dtc P0235, Boost pressure sensor and MES shows no change in boost signal. Occasionally, the fault disappears and normal operation returns. And as sudden the fault disappeared, it may reappear again and without any obvious reason.
I've tried following:
1. The boost pressure sensor was renewed (Bosch and tried also cheaper option). No change.
2. The boost sensor supply voltage, ground and sensor signal wires were checked and continuity was checked to the ecu. All ok.
3. I cloned the ecu with KTAG and tried another ecu. Same problem.
4. Turbo waste gate functionality was checked by turning the lever manually and it moves ok. Not stuck open.
5. and yes, ground cables wer also cleaned and duplicated between chassis and transmission.
6. Tried also disconnecting the EGR solenoid plug and plugging the vacuum hose from the pump side. Only change was a additional dtc of EGR control (don't remember the code).
Now I'm wondering what to check next. The 3.0 is new engine to me. I've fiddled with older 2.8s so I'm wondering if the EGR could be the cause. Sticking compressor wheel could be a one option, but I doubt that, since it seems to be making boost, although the sensor signal does not indicate that through the obd.
Any ideas what to check next? I'm leaning towards a wiring problem, although I measured individual wires. It would be quite easy to bypass the original signal wire with a temporary one, to see if it makes any change.
