hi,
i have a ducato 250 natural power,

and need to know how the fans cooling the radiators are supposed to work,
if blowing air through them(so in opposite direction of the air flow generated from the moving vehicle),
or sucking air form the radiator and pushing it toward the engine,
or even if one fan goes in a way and one in an other,
i've heard this one too about some cars.
thank you very much for your answers :)

Ducatos with CNG engine are rare. I doubt that any forum member will be able to help with personal knowledge.

From logical reasoning, the fans must blow towards the engine. If not, the fans would work against the airflow generated by the vehicle motion.

The fans have DC motors, and will probably blow in the wrong direction, if the supply is reversed. As the fan connectors are polarised, I cannot see how this could happen, unless the fan connectors have been incorrectly assembled.

ok,
but apart the cng engine,
how do fan work in a diesel one ?
because they are set in the same position(between rads and engine),

so i suppose they should work the same way.

All fans should blow in the same direction as the air flow when the vehicle is moving.

Why are you asking?

i need to know for reasons and problems obviously,
is a very long story and i'm sure people with very low experience put their hands on it before i acquired it,anyway,
just asked a friend with 2300cc 130CV and they blows pushing through the rads,
so air goes out of the front in opposite direction as the air flow when the vehicle is moving.

someone else can confirm?

Think about it,

if the fans blow against the air flow caused by the vehicle moving it is possible that the air flow over the radiator would be zero and the engine would over heat!

Your friends vehicle is incorrect if it blows air out of the front grill.

Some fans are mounted in front of the radiator and push air through the radiator
Some fans are mounted between the radiator and engine they pull the air through the radiator.

Good luck

i get your point and the logic behind it,
BUT,
i need to know from someone who made a test,
because fiat is well known for making strange things and i'm sure my friend is not a liar,he clearly told that when the vehicle is stop and fans start spinning cause of overheeating when he walk in front of the vehicle he can feel hot air blowing in his direction.

Hi,

Ok you don't want the answer from me.

Your friend is mistaken or his van is faulty.
There is a lot of hot air blowing around when the fans are on.

It is easy to be mistaken unless checked correctly with the bonnet up when the fans are running , preferably with the vehicle on a ramp so you can get under the front.

starting to think this thread is some kind of joke being played.

I do Hope you find it funny as with cv19 there are not many funny things happening.

Good luck with everything.

Best wishes

Jack
