I.m a bit stumped with this;
I'm having trouble sourcing a speedo transducer. it seems that this (2002) was the last year to have a speedo cable before system went electric.
any ideas out there ?
The auto electrician is texting me the part number tonight

Sure its tge transducer and not the pinion is stripped transducer is on ebay for £50-£100 9610853480

Can anyone verify that these are the correct part numbers for vin# zfa23000006226407
Speedo cable 1315810080
speedo sensor 9610853480

....and do you have access to the correct part number for the associated spindle in gearbox?

Thanks Corcai,

Pinion could be stripped, don't know yet.
Think I may have found some of the parts required. (See below) or maybe above

Using your VIN In Eper Rel 68
PE - DUCATO'94 DIESEL (1994-2002)
232.656.1.0 - FURGONE G.V.2800 JTD 18Q FIANC.ALTA PASS LUNGO
Engine: 3546919 Vehicle: 00000000 Prod. date: 5/1/2002

Using your VIN zfa23000006226407 this is the info that my ePer supplied regarding your speedo related parts.
Our X244 we had was made in late 2002 & had the electronic speedo & the Transducer on the gearbox didn't look like the one in the diagram, it was smaller than that, & could be purchased on eBay. If you remove the transducer be careful of the small washer (6) on the gear shaft & the shaft itself doesn't drop into the Diff  .
Hope that helps - PM me if need more.
Cheers

Hi Mictre,

I have the same 2002 vehicle and think that I am looking for the same mechanical speedo transducer! Photo attached of P/N 9406160828.

I can’t find one anywhere! It was only used in 2002 with the 1st hydraulic operated MLGU Clutch before changing to electronic speedo and transducer in 2003.

Did you have luck finding it?

I would really appreciate any help as its becoming very frustrating having had no luck in the past month

Cheers

Glen

From the diagrams that you were providing with it looks like the metal pin and cog could be stripped out and maybe fit a different transducer part?

Glen,
I found the Cable and the transducer from 2diifferent suppliers.
Auto Ricambi Slovakia and ? Germany.
It took me a year.
The breakthrough came when I translated the part names into different languages and then searched through google

Hi Mictre,

I have just come back from Wales with a repaired car speedo cable and they dismantled the speed sensor and replaced the safety plastic square ended linked insert with a steel one with a cut through it so if the cable breaks again this will break rather than damaging the gearbox. The company has a very skilled and unique workforce, they are called Speedy Cables. They also tested it and connected up the speedo dial to check calibrated properly.

I am so glad I decided to ask them if it could be repaired or replaced, which was another option too.

This is definitely the only company I would ever contact again regarding speedo cable and/or speedo sensors that have become obsolete. They gave me a guided tour of the premises and repair/reinstate classic car instrument panels too. It took me a day to sort out and I stayed in a nearby hotel in Swansea otherwise we might not have been able to use the motorhome for an indefinite period with it having failed its MOT.

Glen
