Hello

Can anyone tell me how to remove or where the tensioner is for the power steering belt? I have to change the alternator belt but need to remove the power steering belt first.

Any help much appreciated

Cheers Jimmy

The alternator belt will have a tensioner but the other may well be a 'stretch fit'.
I reckon the designers of these things just wanted to have a bit of fun so they stuffed everything in and then took an oath of silence. No verbal or written records were to be released.
It does sound like fun actually. :D

All the vans I've seen had a single belt it goes around the power steering pump then does a 180 around the tensioner then back and around the alternator. You must have air conditioning or be a very late model? Looks like theres a pivot adjustment for those.

Thanks for all the replies I have one belt which goes around the alternator to the crankshaft (think that's what it is) then another that goes from the crank to the power steering (seperate pulley) the alternators sprung so easy enough but the power steering has a long 10mm bolt with a nut that looks like some sort of arm tried slackening it off made now difference rollers wouldn't budge. Cheers

That's looking like the one or very similar I tried slackening off 9 and 11 but no movement would you have a clue which bolt needs slackening to loosen it up? Thanks

There are probably one or two bolts holding pump on as well, these need to be loosened to allow pump to move to get belt off. What you removed is the tensioner for the pump.
