Hello goodfolks!

I have a 1997 mod Ducato housewagon.
The problem started when i tried to connect a reversing tv to the key/ignition.

I had messured where the + and - where so it wasent going to be a big problem. BUT it was dark an i did it wrong + on - and - on plus.
I had the car going at the time when i was connecting, dont ask why... but i did. :bang:

The whole driverscabin (not the house at back) went dark! and the car stopped.

We took out the battery after first disconnecting the cooler, when we put i in again the cabin light, cd player, and "smoke 12v" worked. (the emergency lights was the only thing working before that)

But nothing happens when i turn the key, no dash lights, no sound from enginge..

I checked all the fuses, in the glowecompartment (normal ones) and also in the engine.
In the engine i found a BIG 175A, two normal 30A and one normal 15A
Is it more?

No breaks on the fuses that i found.

What could be the problem? i have a messuring device, but where to messure and look?

How mutch voltage should it be to the egnition? when i messure there now i get different reading every time, from 8-10, but anyhow i would still get the dash lights to work, witch i dont..(n)

So it is power to the ignition, the key turns around, but Nothing.

Can someone help me? all help are apriciated very mutch! im about to change the alloy wheels to se i tha wagon starts then.. Im desperate, so all answers goes strait to the heart and nothing could be to stupid to try!

Give it a shot!

Regards Glen

Hi
Don't know if this applies to your 97 model but the later Ducatos have a Fuseable/link on the positive battery terminal junction somewhere. Maybe if yours is the same, it is fused/blown - whether this would give these symptoms?? I think you will have get an auto electrical person to diagnose! as without knowing what actually was done it is too hard to give an answer :bang:
cheers
