Hi All
Having a bit of trouble getting my Ducato van to start.

van was working fine until i parked it up and came back to it after a few days.

Turns over fine and battery is ok but no smoke from exhaust and no firing of any sort whatsoever.

Camshaft is turning and no engine warning/lights illuminating.

Tried tow starting but to no avail and have had a fault code reader on it that says possible can fault but no other information.

Are these vans known for cam sensors or ecu faults etc causing a non start?

any pointers greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Brian

They are known for corrosion in connector blocks at the sensor and particularly where looms connect to others and the ecu. Find the cam sensor somewhere round that side of the engine can't remember exactly where, pull the plug and put it in again or at least disturb it. If you open plastic covers on boxes between the air filter and headlamp you can open and inspect a few multiple connectors. Then try again. Feel down the looms, connectors can be tucked away.

Without more details. the list of possible causes is endless.
Do you hear the fuel pump switching on when you turn the key? Does the sequence of warning lights coming on and go off after you turned the key look normal to you?
