Afternoon, can anyone shed some light on this please?
I have a Dualogic transmission Fiat which I love and is perfect apart from this issue- but the bloody thing is going to get itself scrapped if I can’t fix this ongoing problem.

When I’m driving, it randomly puts itself in Neutral and gets stuck for about 10 minutes and does the ‘somethings wrong’ beep at me. I’ve tried everything to get it out of Neutral, but it needs that 10 minutes to reset then it’s fine. I’ve disconnected the battery for 24 hours which I thought did the trick- until today!

The thing is it only happens rarely (3/5 times a year) and it’s ALWAYS when it’s raining heavily, or been raining. I’m struggling to find the issue as surely if it was something like fluid levels, battery etc it would happen more often. I’ve bought a £5 OBD2 diagnostic tool from eBay in the hope it shows something up.

Thanks in advance ??

Hi

It sounds like rainwater is getting in somewhere.. :(

Poorly re.fitted fusebox lid.. or light cluster are easier to check than chasing wiring ;)

You OBD diagnostic tool probably wont help.. as the cheap ones just do 'engine'

And you probably want 'body'

DO check your brakelights..
The gearbox uses them as a sensor ;)
