Please help, brought my very first car 2 days ago. brnd new Grande Punto. driving back to where i live my sat nav stopped workin, it now appears my power supply by my hand brake doesnt work, please what should I do??

you should get a better sat nav


no serioulsy this is common on the GP some Fag lighter plugs (sat nav's mobile phone chargers and the like have over long side contacts which create a short against the positive end/ Bimetal release mechanism)

I had a Siemens mobile phone charger that kept popping the fuse

Its not the car or dealers fault it happened so doubt you'd get it done for free...

you need a pack of 20A micro blade fuse from a motor factors.....

lift the bonnet near the battery there is the main fuse box remove the cover (its explained in the hand book)

and its this little yellow one with the arrow


If you wrap a bit of insulation tape round the lower part of the plug it will stop it happening

So are you just suggesting that my fuse has gone? unfortunatly its not actually my Sat Nav its my parents so I dont think I would b allowed 2 wrap insulation tape around it.

The problem is not the cigarette lighter its crap mobile phone chargers,fuses blow for a reason.

my Garmin sat nav works fine

my old charger i actually dismantled it and insulated the bits that shorted with heat shrink tubing
