General Drivers door handle - cable removal 2012 x250

Hi folks,

Can anyone advise on removing the drivers door panel 2012 X250?

I know there are lots of videos on YouTube but none show how to release the green plastic connector at the at the end of the internal door handle?

I can’t seem to get it off without destroying it - or am I working on the wrong end - should I be looking to remove the cable from the latch end?

I just want to take the inner door panel off to get inside the door.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!
