Hi guys,

Just wondering could you help me.

When i go to take off/leave out the clutch in my 80 16v bravo, there is a clicking sound. I can't tell if its coming from the right or the left. This also happens when i change gear and put back on the accelerator, there is a click noise.

I suspect a drive is going however i can't be sure.

Any ideas

Cheers:cool:

Check:

Front strut nuts 18mm hex head
Strut mountings 13mm head x 3
Strut to hub bolts
Arb and mounts full length
Wishbone bolts
Ball joint bolt and nut

As I had the same irritating click when taking off, turning to the right, braking or reversing, I didnt fancy changing driveshafts even if I have 3 to play with and on further inspecting the strut nuts and some of the arb mountings were loose, this was the actual cause of the clicking for me (y)

All check out.

The click is now getting worse when i take off, turn(no its not a CV joint) or change gear. If i leave the accelerator off completly and then throttle up again, as soon as my foot hits the accelerator, the click is there.

The wheel liners may be sagging or broken, I had this problem when I put Marea wings but didnt have the liners then lowered the car. It drove me mad all the scraping and clicking...

Are you sure its not the cv joints? It mightnt necessarly be the drivers side but the passengers side amplifing the sound to the other side. I used to have a 93 Impreza with a clicking noise that got worse and worse. Then one day, bang. Front right hand side shaft blew up sending the bearings all ova the road... No slop in drive, no warning atall... I had to scrap that car because of that  (if it is a driveshaft tho, Bravos are much cheaper, easier and more common to get then the Impreza driveshaft) Itd b worth checking the boots to see if you have enough grease in the driveshafts this causes annoying clicking if its nearly run out. Fiat use their own cv joint grease, MRM-2. Dealer only tho....
