Ok I'm being a numpty and showing my naivety again, the pulley on the alternator I replaced the other day is 1/2" less in diameter than the original and the drive belt is a teeny bit slack and squeals occasionally (the alternator is positioned at the maximum point, can't get any more tension into the belt if even if I wanted to!)... I'd like to buy a shorter drive belt but I can't seem to find much online. I might not be looking in the right places and what I have seen hasn't given me the confidence to order and know that I'm going to get the right one first time around.

I managed to get some numbers and bits off of the existing drive belt:

5PK 0938

I'm guessing '5PK' refers to the number of peaks / grooves in the belt and the '0938' means 938mm long at a guess.

Would I be right in that assumption? and if so, where on earth can I buy a new one slightly smaller?

Cheers all, apologies again for my numptiness! (y)

edit: another site I have stumbled upon tells me the belt is 'PV' and again I assume that's pointing to the same detail as above, that is has 5 grooved bits / peaks / etc.
