General Dreaded strut top failure

09 Qubo 1.3 diesel (non DPF), 56,000miles.

New tyres all round fitted two weeks ago, since then knocking over speed bumps and tonight, when stationary and engine running, a grinding/creaking noise when turning the steering wheel left & right.

New steering rack was fitted 12 months ago.

Strut top failure?

If it is, what's the rough cost to sort?

Nearly 100% positive on that, classic signs. Search on the Qubo Forum for this subject and you will find lots of posts, including costs for different solutions....

Hi & Qube O is right, mounting bolts!
I bought a pair from eurocarparts £40 (on offer) & got a mechanic friend to do the job at home for £60, perfect now.
Now I have occasional Blue smoke to deal with, suspect it may be a gunged (or failed) up EGR valve, trying the spray remedy tomorrow.. fingers crossed!
11 plate Trekking with 41k BTW.
