Dragging a bit

Hi

Ive got a 1.9 JTD HLX Bravo (YReg)
Its done 42K and it seems to have dropped a bit lately. Its not picking up as fast as it used to (around 40K) Also the turbo seems to be a bit intermittant as in it only kicks in occasionally.

It was last serviced at 36K and is
booked in to be serviced this weekend. There seems to be quite a bit of noise coming from the engine although its still running fine. Temps are OK too.

Any ideas of things i should be looking at?

The same happened to my JTD at about 25k miles. There was just no poke at all, so I took it to Fiat when it was still under warranty and they replaced a faulty air valve, then it was rapid!

Was this cheap to do?

The thing was it was under warranty so i'm not sure how much it'd have costed, it's prob worth giving your local dealer a call and explaining the problem. If its only at 42k there shouldn't be any major problems as far as the turbo is concerned.

Phoned the dealer and he recommends the diagnostics test. Booked it in for friday morning but ... £50

At least ill know if there is anything wrong

When i bought my JTD HLX it felt like the turbo kicked in and then died again at 3500rpm's. I found it hard to red line.

Anyway with some helpful advice on here from Nige, i replace the Mass Airflow Sensor. Very easy job to do.

However the sensor at Fiat is £175.

But if you goto www.shop4parts.co.uk i think it was £130 delivered. Genuine Fiat Part too. However i bought mine from Andrew Page for £150. Forgot about the website and couldn't wait really.


Hope this helps and save you a £50 diagnostic.
