Hi all I'm having issues with my 2017 doblo 1.3 multijet in particular the dreaded particulate filter.
It seems to require regenerating more frequently , admittedly I don't do a lot of motorway driving but its definitely got worse plus it seems to use a fair bit of oil!
Any advice or others with this?
Many small diesels with DPF suffer from it when only used around town/short journeys etc.
First make sure your thermostat is working and engine reaches correct running temperature or it cannot Regen correctly.
Second with every full tank of fuel put half a bottle of DPF cleaner additive. Incidentally if fuel tank low some cars will not do a Regen.
Third if you notice white smoke from exhaust with a strong smell indicating the car is trying to do a Regen, don't stop it and ideally keep engine revs around 2000 rpm or a bit more, so maybe in one lower gear until the smoke stops of it's own indicating it has finished cleaning.
Fourth and I had to do this on my daughters 1.6 VW Golf roughly once a month give car a good run at dual carriageway speed to put the light out and clean the DPF as most of her driving to work was only a few miles at slow speed.
You could put a brand new DPF on car at considerable expense and problem would still come back after a while, basically car salesmen are selling customers car that are not suited to their usage around town/short slow journeys due to all the exhaust emission equipment on them.

If that is what the customer does then a small petrol engine car would be better.
It does seem to affect smaller engines mostly , but I had a neighbour with a nearly new 2.0 litre van that suffered and the dealership was trying to give him a massive bill as they said it wasn't covered by the warranty. So again salesmen not advising their customers of suitability of vehicle, his was again mostly stop/start around town.
