Hello all,

I've just went with my car to a mechanic that changed all the oil in my gearbox. Now, when i try to downshift, it won't enter the down gear unless the RPM will be below 3000 RPM. The mechanic claims that this is something usual for this type of car, protecting the gearbox from abuse and that it didn't work before because I didn't have enough oil in the gearbox.

Just one other thing to mention. When up-shifting or on still, the gearbox works very well.

Does your Bravo do the same ?

Thank you,
Razvan

welcome aboard m8,was the oil thicker than what came out,a lot of gearbox centres say to use engine oil or atf even when original specs may say 75/90.:D

Hellcat: 1.4Tjet 120bhp and manual gearbox. I didn't watch the mechanic so I don't know what happend. What can I do now? I recall him saying something about 100ml of oil in the gearbox, when it has a 2L capacity. Maybe he overfilled it or something?

if gearbox was refilled from top up bung you cannot overfill,100ml is nearly dry:eek::yuck:,where is your leak?
