i recently bought a 2005 mk2 punto which had been in an small accidnet and had had its left headlight and a panel replaced fully and completly repaired with a brand new mot. however when i close the passenger door ( the side of the accident damage) if i dont slam it excesivly hard, the bottom half of door doesnt shut and the top half does, does any one have any ideas how to fix this ?
thanks

The chassis may have twisted, unsure to know. Get it checked out at a different garage to what the dealership may have used (Out of Town).

I'm a little confused because there is one catch which is halfway up the door,

the only thing I can think of is, if something is getting caught stopping the bottom to close unless pushed hard.

when the door is shut what is the gap like around the door compared to the drivers door, also when the door opens does it drop at all?

i checked the gap and it never shuts 100% close instead there is a few milimeters hanging over. i checked the catch, and it doesnt sit all the way up like it does on the otherside, instead it is a little lower, and when i shut the catch with the door open and pull the handle, it doesnt pop out again like it does on the other doors

thanks
