Technical Door Mechanism Greasing

The door handles move ok, but to open the door I am finding I am having to give them quite a violent tug. This has gradually got worse so am assuming they require some TLC.

The question is: how do I go about this? What type of oil/grease is required?

I've used lithium spray grease before with no issues

Wd40 white lithium sprag grease to be exact.

Says its perfect for metal to metal lubrication
