Hi Fiat people. I just got a 2008 Lounge 1.2 petrol for my son. We took of the door cards to replace the torn speakers. Put the door back together and now when we use the retro lock the doors it locks and immediately unlocks. We first thought it was the door rod end clip. So checked it again it all seems to be in order.
If anyone can shed some light on this what to look for or how to fix it please. Much appreciated.

Lock "bouncing", bouncing back as it where...

Check door electrical connections inside door, also check door loom wires and connection to car loom....

By the way, electric windows ?

Does lock bounce back when it's been raining ?

Wet speaker cone ??

Thanks. You were right. It was just after it rained. I took it apart and cleaned and dried. All good now.
Not sure what to do in the future if it rains. Does the door have a drain hole. Is there anything I can do to stop this?

This is common when the door card is removed and water gets behind the card or around the speaker opening.
Yes, there are door drain holes. They’re at the bottom of the door and allow water to exit. Check and clear them. Even a partially blocked hole can let water pool near the lock or wiring.
Inspect the door loom and connectors. Moisture can cause the signals from the lock actuator to misbehave. Some people add a thin layer of dielectric grease on the plugs to repel water. That is very useful long term.
Speaker cutouts / gaskets - if you remove or replace speakers (like you did), make sure the speaker itself and any foam or gasket sits properly. Misaligned or missing gasket can let water run down onto the loom or actuator.
After heavy rain it’s normal to see temporary issues if water gets in. Usually it clears once it drains and dries.

Hi again f500,

Electric windows ?

Wire cable winch type ??

Any electric wires chafted thru to copper by window winch wires ???

Water dribbles down winch wires connecting chafted wires in a way never expected by designer causing mayhem, lock bouncing and dead locking occupants in the car etc. ????

Thank god the pug 306 had mechanical rear passenger wind down windows and didn't burst into flames !

Make and break contact in door loom ?

Door electrics misbehave, or behave properly when door opened and closed or in a certain position ?????

It would be a very high tide in ffestiniog for flooding to happen due to blocked drains... water falls, maybe....but you never know...
