Technical Door check strap

Hi,

I have an 06 3dr Grande Punto M-Jet with a faulty check strap that clicks every time I open the door. It works perfectly fine but is just annoying.

Does anyone know the best/easiest way to replace it?

Mine did the same unfortunately after purchasing a new one I rounded of the groves which sit in the door frame and now I can no longer screw the bolt in without it coming of and have been left with this.

However, you basically take the door card of unscrew the bolt which you can see from the front and then the other 2 bolts again which you can see from the side and carefully pull it out. Replace and then screw back in, but dont screw to hard or else you'll end up like me.

I think i'm going to get have to get an helicoil insert for mine.
