Rasputin has recently developed a rattling driver's door window glass... (only when it's open).

It feels/sounds like the glass is able to touch something metallic, so I imagine a pad, guide or rubber bush has fallen off ...

The right hand/front of the car has seen some trauma sometime - I think the windscreen and side window are not the originals - so it's probably a poor repair coming back to haunt me.

How does the door card come off? There's a hatch in the door pull that probably has a screw underneath.. but what about the door handle escutcheon? How does that come off?

I guess it "snaps on and snaps when you take it off"... :D but is there a trick to removing it, that doesn't break it?

Any other screws apart from the one/two in the door pull and under the handle escutcheon?

Ta.

Two alan head bolts under handle cover plate, gently pull off chrome door pull trim and remove bolt.
Use a chunky screwdriver near the bottom left off the door trim panel it could be quite hard to remove all round bottom and sides, with the lower edge pulled away from the door pull the whole panel upwards from the top of the door, now remove the screws holding the door pull from the panel rather than unclipping the notorious clips and leave handle dangling? Often the top window guide bolt comes loose in the middle top of the door?

Cool ta. The weather here is a bit wet, so I might leave it for the moment.. window stays shut anyway and I don't want to risk breaking something that prevents the glass sealing properly.. but I have some trim panel remover/crowbar things .. and I'll give it a go soon.

The loose window guide bolt sounds like a contender.. the glass seems to have some rocking movement in it, when it's partially open.
