I guess just don't limit yourself to certain makes or model and look for something with a bit of history.

To me, cento wins everytime tho :) . If your boyfriend is handy with the spanner, then i don't see why not just buy another cinquecento or seicento.

Don't get a punto :p . nice engine in the wrong car.

If you are desperate, there are few choices:

Sei/cinq
Nissan micra
Honda civic

All really common cars and under £1000. But if you have around £1000 for a cinq, you will find a very nice one :) . post the car up before you go and see it/buy it.

didn't you b/f buy a whole loads of modifying parts for the cinq??

Ah this old chesnut again! I take it you don't like Micras then, Steve? :D

tbh, if you have £1kish to spend, i'd be looking for a sei, as late/good condition as possible. that sort of budget will either get you a mk1 spi sporting with a service history or a fairly early mk2 mpi sei sporting with a part service history.

i definitley wouldnt bother with the mentioned civics and micras.

Civics although decent cars, really are hell of a dull and their insurance for what they are is horrendous!, i looked at one a few years a back, think it was something like group 8 or 9 for a 1.4!

micras, solid, dependable....bit like a washing machine on wheels tbh.

Puntos? hmmmm, tbh, id say no to them over a tidy cento tbh.

what i will say, is if you go for a cinq over a sei, make sure you get it from a good source. Cinqs in particular are all very old cars now, most have lived a very hard life by owners running them on a very tight budget. even a supposed good one can hide a few issues, so i'd be very cautious.

but yeah, post anything you are thinking of up, and we'll see whats what :)

Agree with the insurance cost on the civic, but there never a dull moment in a car that handles so well :) .

With the cinq, doesn't matter how good a source you get it from, there will be troubles no doubt, well unless the whole thing had been rebuilt recently. As said tho generally if you needing a car quick get something which suits your insurance cost and some service history and don't just be bias towards any car make.

That'd be great :) It's gonna take me a while to save up a grand anyway so should have it by the time you've finished your sei :)
