AFTER TALKING TO A FIAT SPECIALIST I WAS SUPRISED TO HEAR WHICH PART IT WAS ON MY NEW CAR.
HE ALSO MENTIONED THAT THEY ARE CODED TO EACH PARTICULAR CAR WHICH SHOCKED ME
Either that, or there's a seperate code box. You should be able to get a new (or s/h) ECU virginised or coded to match your existing keys. AFAIK, it's way too late an ECU to be chipped, but should be easy enough to get a "live remap" done on it.
