Moved house in november, sent off V5/2 for change of address. Thought no more of it, until saturday when i went to tax my car.

NO V5/2!!!

Ooooooops :/

Called DVLA, a friendly camp Welsh lad answered after about 5 levels of menus, none of which applied to what i wanted, they had my details so are sending another!

Will it be here by tuesday or will i have to be a rebble with no tax???

Why do you need your V5 ?

All that is usually required is the reminder letter and your MOT.

Thats good, but you need the reference number from the reminder letter

You also need the new style MOT certificate

As long as they hold a record of your MOT then your in. You don't necesarily need the new style MOT certificate. You can check out if they hold your records by entering your vehicle reg

Did all that and no go. It says it can't proceed. The MOT system is all being computerised, and this online tax system relies on it being able to check the MOT computer records and you only appear on that if you have a new style certificate, which I don't, I have the old style

Oh well, guess I'll have to actually use my legs and go to the Post Office on Tuesday and do it like we always used to

Does nobody bother taking their Certificate of Insurance with them, then?
I'd take it, just in case!

An excemption certificate is what you get for typing with fat fingers and not reading back before posting.
