Hi folks,
I'm new here and really hoping that somebody will help me with this problem.
I have a 2011 Doblo 1.6 Multi-jet with a lift up type tailgate.
The problem is the tailgate door will not open when pressing the rubber release button. I get a faint clicking noise from the lock its self but it does not release the door.
Now removed the back panel of the door to expose the wiring loom, lock and button.
Have checked the electrical plugs which seem all good. Checked the continuity of the switch which seems ok, bypassed the switch but lock just half clicks and does not operate fully.
So off to fiat dealer and orders a new locking mechanism. Fitted it....and had exactly the same problem.
Strange thing happens....When the door is open and I depress the lock button, the lock will give a pulse and the rear wiper will partially operate.
I'm not an electrician and only now the basics but think this could be an earth fault.
Another strange thing....I put a digital volt meter across the switch wires and there is NO voltage there!!! But when I short those cables out I get the same half pulse from the lock and the rear wiper moves.
If I unplug the wiper motor wires I lose all power ie NO pulsing from the lock mech.
Could this be a Relay or a board problem at the front of the car or am I missing something simple.
Think I might need an auto electrician.
Apologies for the long post.
Any help with this prob would most gratefully be received.
Thanks guys,
Fleck.
