Right, mechanic has had car for over a month now and has just really got around to starting on work on it!!

Anyway more to the point, the car broke down last month and i got it towed to garage, it had siezed previously and this time the crankshaft pulley had basically dicintigrated at it core causing the belt to slip off and to jump causing valves to bend and the mechanic also mentioned that something was wrong with the pistons!

I personally think this may be a new engine jobby yet the mechanic remains defiantly optimistic.

Do you think the JTD may have had the doblo engine from the start or has it been replaced before??

Oddly enough, when i had her angel tuned it kept coming up on his screen something to do with doblo so im wondering wether an incompatible map has done anything? im not looking for blame! im just trying to piece together why all this misfortune has come upon my JTD.

Ive been without her for 5 weeks now and im very disheartened!

Sorry for long post,
all comments welcome

Re: Untitled

remap isn't at fault. by the sounds of it its mechanical failure, caused by a faulty part...

Your mechanic, if you trust him, will have the best idea about how to fix it.

Re: Untitled

The doblo used the same 1.9 105JTD engine. Just geared differently as its got the aerodynamics and road holding of a bread tin.

Having said that, upto 30-40 the doblo accelerates really well.
