Does anyone on here know anything about this car? 1308cc seems an odd figure.

bicestersportscars .co.uk/car-sales/1998-fiat-sporting-1308cc-105bhp

Maybe a typo and is 1368cc

The car was auctioned last year (for about half the price it is listed now). It was listed as 1308cc there but as a 1275 type engine. I wonder if it is an A series mini engine with a small over bore.

angliacarauctions dot co dot uk /en/classic-auctions/results/results-1st-november-2014/1998-fiat-cinquecento-sporting-1308cc/

PS I'm not allowed to post links because I'm too new around here.

Can you see the pictures.....???

It isn't an A series Mini engine!!

It is a Fiat FIRE engine.
The "1275" may actually mean 1.2 75 (as in a Punto 75), which is 1242cc.
The 1.2 is 70.8 mm bore x 78.9 mm stroke.
You'd need to take that to 72.65 bore to get 1308cc.

Edited the bore figure above...

That's what I like about it.

to me thats is the P75 engine , so its a 1,2 8v , MPI ,

all them abarth badges over it looks silly imo

Its a nice spec of engine then. Pretty much what I'm looking for. At last year's price, not what Bicester are asking. The Abarth badges might not last all the way home from the dealer if I bought it.

It's a punto 75 engine. Doesn't mean it hasn't been bored out to be 1.3, but tbh i'd be surprised.

Not sure what's going on with that secondary cam breather either, looks utterly stupid. As do the abarth badges.

If it genuinely is 1308cc then an overbore of 1.9mm dia is the most likely explanation. 72mm pistons from a 1.4 only get you to 1283cc. You need 72.7 to get to 1308, which is not a Fiat size as far as I can tell. If you're going to the trouble of fitting an MPI engine and you think 1241cc isn't enough, why not go for the 1.4?

It looks like they've glued it on!
