My Bravo has a problem with the rear Wiper. Probably the motor has too less power because the wind screen wiper always stops in the middle of the rear screen.

After i get to know this problem i looked for other Bravos in my city - some seem to have the same problem- some wipers are on the middle of their rear screens- everytime.

Does anybody know how to solve the problem- buy a new motor for the wiper (its about 100 EUR).

Do you have the same problem ?

Thanx for your reply !

Please tell me your experiences.

Same problem

I had exactly teh same problem!!!
There was no other alternative the to change the motor.Mine was a little cheaper (around 50 EUR).

Bye

Me too...

When I bought my Bravo -98, one and a half year ago, the rear wiper was broken (didn't work at all). But my local Fiat dealer changed it on the warranty. That's the only broken Bravo rear wiper I've ever heard of.

One of the features

Hi!
You ain't alone with this problem. When the rear wiper stops in the middle of the screen it's a sign you to start looking for a spare parts.

Mine Bravo was last week in the garage because of this prob. It started with tickling noise and wiper seemed to lose power. Then it stopped in the middle.

New motor is much more powerful compared to the old one. Maybe the old one is not desing to work in the cold climates with that heavy load.

ps. According to dealer those original wiper motors are disposable parts and often changed during the warranty period.

Same problem..

Hi.

Well i had the same problem with mine. The problem turned out to be corrosion. I solved it by, removing the wiperblade, and spraying with caramba. I let that work for a while...then turned on the wiper again. It went a little slow at first, but after a while it worked fine ...that was a year ago, and i haven't had any problems since...

Hope that helps..

Rear Wiper Corrosion

My 1.6 SX Bravo's rear wipe shaft corroded so badly it stopped rotating. The cheaper cure is to take the unit off, strip, clean it, and reassemble. The unit's back plate comes off easily. The hard part is pressing the main shaft out so you can wire brush the rust off. I had to hammer mine through which also brought its bearing bush with it. To remove the plastic end piece which holds the water jet you need to remove the C clip on the shaft. Don't bother disturbing the black box attached which contains the motor driver electronics, you can clean the 3 contacts to the motor drive gear after you've removed the shaft and gears. There is a relay inside the black box though, so if the shaft has been solid for sometime you may have burnt the contacts out by turning it on hoping it will work again ! If you take the black box off, you can easily see the relay once the box is apart. I packed the shaft holder with grease on reassembly.

Now all I have to do is try and improve the water jet spray. It doesn't hit very high up on the rear window.

Washer Jet

My washer jet doesn't spray up to the top of the rear screen. As a result it's wearing down the wiper blade. I thought i just needed a new jet (only £1 from dealer)but does anyone know if this is a more fundamental problem??

Cheers

ACUMULATOR

Your problem is electrical and not related with

the motor. The wiper stop on the middle of the rear

screen because there is probably an electrical

misconnection.

Wipers. etc

Just acquired second Bravo (JTD) this week. First (TD100) got thru 2 wiper motors under warranty. Friend has Tipo with ditto problem. Lets see how long wipers last on this one.

First Bravo also got thru' five (count 'em) wing mirror assemblies under corrosion warranty - no questions asked. New car has body- coloured assembly so let's wait and see. Other major improvement is the boot around handbrake which stops peanuts, polo mints and other FOD getting into the innards.

Dry wiping

When using the washer on the rear window, no water comes out at all. The pump is making the noise. but without results. I think the tube is congested. Any suggestions anybody?

Wiping

I had the same problem- water come out just after a while.

My dealer changed the valve for the tank in the front. (just 0,5 Euro).

Now the water comes out immediately and it works fine.

Sorted

Simply unscrew the tail gate pannel and you will probably find that the washer tube is simply not attached. Just push it back into place. A bit fiddley but it sorted mine out!
