Do trhese work?

Do trhese work?

coupe of my mates have them on there zs180's they sound like a blow off valve from a turbo if you ask me,

not loud though

aren't they just used to go on the breather pipe if it doesn't already run into the induction piping? all i've heard is that they will actually reduce performance as they're close to the engine so sucking in warm air, whereas the breather pipe would be sucking in cooler air from the induction piping

I've used them in the past, (not from Hellfrauds though, too expensive) to replace an annoying emmisions pipe that recirculated oil vapour from the cam cover back into the inlet manifold, (not on a FIAT I should mention)

Although it worked fine, after a few months it just got choked with oil of course and had to be replaced.
Final remedy in that case was to remove the vent and replace the original pipe on the camcover, but leaving it's other end open, pointing downwards in the engine bay.

so in otherwords coming from your experinece carroll, leave alone as theyre not worth the hassle?
Andy i thought that myself with them being close to the engine :s

i'd say not worth the hassle... especially if it may actually decrease throttle resoponce LOL

If they increased performance or economy then it would come as standard fiat aren't stupid.

Things that increase performance - camshaft -turbo -intercooler- bore.

There are no bolt on accessories to realistically increase performance for under £1000, possibly engine swap.

might aswell have one of those magnet things for the oil filter- or homoeopathy.

If Fiat aren't stupid why didn't they make 20VT engines in the bravo's standard in the UK as well as the coupes? :p would have saved a lot of people a lot of time AND money. iirc they did it in Brazil though :/
