Hey guys.

I am seriously considering buying myself a Fiat Grande Punto though it probably wont be for at least a year. Need to get another job first and get the money for it!

However, what I want to know is do the rear seats fold flat like they do on the MK2 Facelift I currently own?

It's just that I mostly use my current car to cart my dog around for walkies and the boot on its own probably will not be big enough :/

Thanks :)

Alex

They fold reasonably flat, but for the rear of the seat to be flat and level like the boot then you're best removing two bolts and removing the base of the rear seat all together!

I've just done this to take the other half's sister back to uni, took literally 2 minutes to remove and put back in :)

(I do have full leather so it might be different on the fabric seats)

Thanks for the response willw!

Like I said, might be a few months before I finally get my hands on one but good to know you can get the seats flat as not a lot of other cars do

Actually, I lied.. I've just been out to check and the seats don't fold as much as I thought they did!

But as I said, I have leather so cloth may be a different story!

Lol thanks guys :)

I'll probably end up with a base model (or at least I hope not. Want to try and get one with some goodies on) so no worries of leather upholstery

Hopefully it's just a case of seat up, back down like in the car I've got

You don't even need to remove the headrests (unless the active is different) just make sure the front seats are far enough forward first, you can always move them back after you've gotten the back ones flat.
Still not big enough for a sheet of plasterboard though :(

lift up seat base first!
Yes.

Pull the base up from the back near the seat belt buckles, it's hinged along the front edge.

The buckles are rigidly fixed to the floor and the seat base is slotted, unlike the 2B Punto where the buckles flopped about until clipped to the seat back.

Once the base is up on its front edge, the back will lie down where the base was - almost flat.

There is a gap behind the base for the tray to slot in.

Yeah you just lift the back seats (put your hand down the back and pull forward), then you might need to push front passenger seat forward for a minute (on 3drs model) then push the 2 clamps either side at the top corners of the back part of the back seats and then pull the back part forward and push it down.
